Poster to promote Surface Seduction, published by G.F. Smith (2005) - a photographic essay on skin, each photograph printed on a different substrate with differing inks - all described in photographic index at rear. "Bryan Edmondson is a bit of a paper buff, so when it came to designing something that would show off the capabilities of German mill Scheufelen's new stock Phoenix, distributed by GF Smith, he turned to Rankin for the photos and Keith Arnold at Moore for the printing of an extraordinary catalogue. 'I pretty much had a clear idea, at the outset, of what I wanted to do, as I'd used the paper in the past and knew the surface was unique, which was part of the idea of Surface Seduction,' recalls Edmondson. Thus, the concept was given to Rankin as, 'the idea of beauty and details of the body, such as the so-called skin beauty of the lips to the not-so-beautiful stubble in an armpit. The idea was liked straight away, as skin tones are a great test of print on a good paper'.

PLEASE NOTE: All the items we sell are out-of-print and original, and show signs of wear consistent with age. Posters in particular are delicate items that can easily suffer the effects of time and handling, so it is unusual to find vintage posters that are in pristine condition. The grading of posters has been kept as simple as possible. The condition of posters is ranked A to C, which include further sub-classifications of plus (+) and minus (-) in each case (e.g. A-, A, A+). Items are supplemented with a high-resolution image, and any specific/significant flaws highlighted. If in doubt, please contact me for further information.

Grade A: items are in excellent condition for their age. They are clean and display bright colour(s), show no sign of loss, and minimal creasing or other imperfections.

Grade B: items are in good condition for their age. They are generally clean, yet may present minimal tears or loss, creasing folds and pin holes.

Grade C: items are in poor condition for their age. They may suffer from soiling, fading or discolouration, in addition to more significant tears, loss, creasing.
