The words are by Tom Rayfield, a JWT Creative Supervisor, and the design is by Fred Barter of the JWT Design Office. The 'history of posters' draws on three admirable books, 'Posters' by Bevis Hillier, published by Weidenfield & Nicolson. 100 Years of Posters' by Bevis Hillier, published by The Pall Mall Press and 'The Poster' by Harold F Hutchison, published by Studio Vista Ltd. We are grateful to all the copyright owners who have allowed us to reproduce their posters and apologise to any we have tailed to ask. The imperfections are our own.'
