(Preface) 'The 100 Show is an annual competition held by the American Center for Design in Chicago. The competition recognises work that illustrates significant trends in communication design. Each year, approximately 100 winning entries are selected from over 1,700. Designers throughout America and Europe enter the competition, and an articulate panel of judges chooses the winning pieces. Typically, entries include interactive media, posters, books, catalogs, annual reports, logos, CD covers, packaging, and stationery systems.'
