About: The Naturalis series of magazines were published as individual numbered editions of 2000, printed on (GF Smith) Naturalis paper. This limited edition (No.1661) publication of Lee Funnell's work is part of a series of collaborations between G.F Smith and the world's most talented, cutting-edge photographers, illustrators and artists. Printed by Gavin Martin with the images prepared using Dianippon Truflow System Screening to create a full range of intense colours with maximum retention of detail.
(Foreword) "Issue two of Naturalis magazine features a new series of images by photographer Lee Funnell. The extraordinary still life photographs are the result of many hours of beach combing by Funnell, who developed a fascination for the flotsam of fishing wire, netting and seaweed that she found washed up on the beaches of the South East coast of England. These modest found objects have been transformed into beautiful, scale-defying constellations of light and colour by Funnell's unique photographic treatment of them."
