(Preface) 'I was one of the first to write about the work of Minale, Tattersfield over twenty years ago in the Japanese design magazine IDEA. Since then I have seen them grow into the internationally renowned company they are today, without losing any of their original wit and zest. Anyone in the design business knows however that creativity for its own sake is useless, and from the first, it was Minale, Tattersfield's insight into their clients' problems that made them unique. For many years they have regularly produced newsletters about their work, which explained the background to their design solutions. I thought a compilation of these would make an excellent book and fascinating reading for designers, students and anyone interested in the vital contribution design makes to our contemporary society.'
