(Preface) 'The 100 Show, sponsored annually by the American Center for Design, is widely considered to be the most influential communication design competition. Its unique judging process asks the judges to independently curate a selection of work from the total pool of entries.

Each selected piece is reproduced in full color and is extensively documented, including a statement of design intent by its designer, comments by the judge or judges who selected it, and complete creative and production credits. Also included are essays by Ellen Lupton, J. Abbott Miller, Victoria Milne, Neville Brody, Karrie Jacobs and Jeffery Keedy.'
