(Introduction/Translation) 'The starting point for the creation of this book is a project with Professor Eckhard Jung, which focuses on the visual side of typography: "Trends, styles, fashions" - the visual languages of designers.
It was in this context that I first encountered a work from Studio Dumbar. It spoke to me in a special way, so that the two main areas of my interest developed almost simultaneously: on the one hand, the visual language and, on the other hand, the underlying structure of this studio.
One that satisfies my curiosity. No picture of the work of Gert Dumbar and his studio was available from the literature available to me. But that quickly changed when personal contact with Studio Dumbar came about.'
