(About) 'Issey Miyake's Oval Project brought together designers to design T-shirts, but also to look at different ways of packaging them. We were doing a lot of merch at the time, T-shirts for ourselves and others, and I was thinking about what makes a T-shirt desirable, especially if it's text or slogan-based, like a tour T-shirt people wear if they like a band, or want an association with that band.
Take that to its logical extreme and we designed a shirt you can fill in as if it's a form. 'My name is - a white block; 'My birthday is and then etc, a bit like a conference name tag. It was a way of saying that you could have ownership of this T-shirt, not by association with something else, but by putting your own name on it. The T- shirt came with a stencil and a pen, so you were part of the design.
As we were interested in the physical aspect of a product, beyond what it looked like, we looked into vacuum packing. This contained the T-shirt, folded up to the size of the stencil.

Condition: Fine/Near Fine. All titles are used and show shelf ware consistent with age. Light rubbing to vacuums packaging.
