Designed by Will Carter and issued in 1955 by Monotype, this bold weight was added in 1960 for Stephenson Blake. “Although it looks like a script produced with a broad-nibbed pen, Carter actually cut the letters into thick white card with a scalpel, backing the resulting apertures with matt black paper to create the distinctive character shapes.” (Source) Inksprite
