Coysten, a 25-year-old graphic design student at London’s Royal College of Art, created a map documenting every airplane crash worldwide over the past 48 years. He explains that the inspiration for this project stemmed from a frightening experience two years ago, when he was on a flight crossing the Indian Ocean. Mid-flight, the cabin’s warning lights flashed on, and a voice declared an emergency, sparking the idea for his work.
