About: Catalogue of the World Exhibition of Photography held in Lucerne, Switzerland, in 1952. Foreword: "Looking at a series of photographs taken from a space rocket, and at the same time at pictures from the very beginning of photography one realises how great the developments of photography and technics within a generation have been. Not many of our contemporaries are conscious of the fact that photography, parallel to printing, has become one of the most important means of communication, and thereby an absolutely necessary element of cultural, social and political life. At the same time the camera, more accurate and impartial than the human eye, has become indispensable to science, the world of sports, to the reconstruction of accidents, the analysis of movements and re-production of forms and structures.”
