(Preface) 'Founders of arguably Switzerland's most famous design consultancy, it's impossible to ignore the impact Sigi Odermatt and Rosmarie Tissi, with their dramatic use of colour and type, have had on the international design scene. Champions of the poster as a way to bring art onto the streets, their contribution to its evolution as a powerful form of visual communication is widely acknowledged. Over 60 years of collecting posters inspired Odermatt to create a book and exhibition of his favourite posters (adding 3 of his own designs) entitled '100+3 Swiss Posters'. The 20 posters highlighted in this catalogue are taken from that collection and are a highly personal selection by Odermatt. As he says, 'they are all things I like, nothing else'. The London Institute is proud to sponsor this exhibition, further supporting its ambition to encourage and develop growth and discussion of graphic design and make it accessible to all.'
